The installation
Every installation starts the same way: we check what your incoming supply and existing consumer unit can take. That determines whether the charger can go straight in, whether the board needs work first, or whether load management is needed.
We install Tesla, Zaptec, Ohme and other leading home chargers, including units you've already bought.
Charger position
Charge points are designed for outdoor use, so a wall, a garage, a car port or a post in the driveway are all workable. What matters more than the wall is the geometry:
- Where the car parks, and which side its socket is on
- Whether the cable will reach without crossing a footpath or a doorway
- How far the run is from the consumer unit — this drives the cost more than anything else
- Whether a tethered cable or a socket-only unit suits how you use the car
Rural properties
Plenty of homes around Wells, Wedmore and the Mendip villages sit on long driveways, in converted outbuildings, or on supplies that were never designed with a 7kW load in mind. We check the board and supply before quoting.

Can an EV charger be installed outside?
Yes. Home charge points are built for outdoor installation.
How long does installation take?
Most straightforward installations are completed within a day. Longer cable runs, board upgrades or awkward routes can extend that, which is why we assess the property before giving you a fixed price.
Do I need to upgrade my fuse board?
Not always. It depends on the condition and spare capacity of your existing consumer unit and the incoming supply.
Can you install a charger I've bought myself?
Yes. We're happy to install a unit you've supplied, or to supply and fit one.
Do you install workplace chargers?
Yes. Workplace and commercial charge points are covered on our commercial side, including multiple units and load management.
