Thermal Imaging Electrical Surveys
A thermal camera shows loose connections and overloaded circuits as heat, before they become a fault or a fire.

Why thermal imaging
A loose connection or overloaded conductor heats up long before it fails. That heat is invisible to the eye but obvious through a thermal camera, which makes it one of the quickest ways to find developing faults on a live installation without switching anything off.
What we survey
- Distribution boards and consumer units
- Control panels and motor starters
- Isolators, busbars and incoming supplies
- Machinery and plant feeds
Any hot spots found are recorded with images and the cause is traced and corrected: re-terminating, rebalancing loads or replacing damaged components.
Alongside an EICR
Thermal imaging is a useful addition to an EICR, particularly for commercial and industrial boards that carry heavy loads and cannot easily be shut down.

Questions we get asked
Before you call.
Does the power need to be off?
No. The survey is carried out on the live installation under normal load, which is when problems show.
What happens if a hot spot is found?
It is recorded, the cause is traced and the fault is corrected, then the board is rechecked.
Is it a replacement for an EICR?
No. It complements an EICR. The EICR is the formal inspection and test; thermal imaging finds heat faults.
