Why it matters
Holiday lets and B&Bs are generally covered by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, so a fire risk assessment is needed and the alarm should follow it. Paying guests are unfamiliar with the layout and may be asleep, so interlinked detection in bedrooms, hallways and living areas, plus clear escape lighting, makes a real difference.
What we install
- Mains-wired, interlinked smoke and heat alarms
- Larger addressable or conventional systems for bigger properties
- Wireless systems where cabling would be disruptive or damaging to a period building
- Emergency lighting along escape routes
- Carbon monoxide alarms where there are fuel-burning appliances
- An EICR for the fixed wiring
Between guests
Work can be scheduled between bookings. We also provide testing and records, and holiday let electrical services and BusinessCare™ give you ongoing cover if something goes wrong while guests are staying.

Questions we get asked
Before you call.
Does my Airbnb need a fire alarm?
A fire risk assessment is required for paying-guest accommodation and it decides what is needed. Interlinked smoke and heat detection is the usual starting point.
Can you work around guest bookings?
Yes. We schedule around check-outs and check-ins.
Do I need an EICR as well?
An EICR is good practice for any let and is often requested by insurers.
“Explained what he was doing, gave honest advice and didn’t make the job bigger than it needed to be. Proper reliable service.”
